## Why does Central Ohio land need specialized clearing?

Central Ohio land needs specialized clearing because of three local conditions: aggressive invasive brush led by bush honeysuckle, poorly drained clay soils that rut under the wrong machine, and buried utilities that require an Ohio 811 locate before any digging. Generic clearing crews handle all three badly.

Bush honeysuckle is the defining problem. [Ohio State University Extension](https://ohioline.osu.edu/factsheet/f-68) identifies it as one of the state’s most aggressive woodland invaders, and cutting it without follow-up treatment makes it resprout thicker than before.
