FROM CENTRAL OHIO LANDOWNERS

Real Questions We Get Every Week

Asked by Central Ohio landowners on our Facebook posts. If your question isn’t here, call Mr. Carson — (614) 215-9217.

How soon does Bush Honeysuckle come back after mulching?

Most properties stay open 3-5 years with light spot treatment in year 1. Forestry mulching weakens the root system and chokes regrowth under the mulched material — but the roots aren’t dead. We walk you through the maintenance plan in person.

What happens to the mulch — will my land turn to mud?

The mulched material stays on-site and acts as ground cover — it actually helps prevent erosion and holds moisture through the seasons. No burning. No hauling. No bare dirt left behind. Mr. Carson plans the cut pattern so the mulch lays evenly across cleared areas.

What’s your minimum job size? I only have about an acre.

No hard minimum. We’ve done jobs as small as half an acre and as large as 80+. If you’re close to a property we’re already working, we can usually roll your job into the schedule. Call (614) 215-9217 to ask.

Do you go outside the 5 Central Ohio counties?

Yes — for larger jobs. We’ve worked Crawford, Pike, Allen, Madison, Union, and Knox counties when the scope made it worth the travel. Call us with your acreage and location and we’ll tell you straight up if we can come.

Common Land Problems We Solve Across Central Ohio

Whatever shape your acreage is in today, you’re not the first landowner to call us with this. Here’s how Mr. Carson handles the six most common reasons people pick up the phone.

Just bought it

Inherited Or Newly-Purchased Acreage

You just bought (or inherited) 5-50 acres that’s been let go for 20+ years. You can’t walk it. Fence lines are lost. Old trails are buried.

What we do: Forestry mulching cuts through invasives and brush in one pass. We open it back up so you can finally see what you own.

Invasive species

Bush Honeysuckle & Invasive Takeover

Bush honeysuckle, multiflora rose, autumn olive, or buckthorn are spreading across your woods. They steal water, block access, and choke out your hardwoods.

What we do: Mulched on-site. No burning, no hauling, no chemical drift. Most properties knocked down to clean understory in 1-3 days per machine.

Site prep

Building A House, Barn, Pond, Or Shop

You need build-ready land for a new home, pole barn, septic field, driveway, or pond site. The lot has to be clear, stumps ground, and graded before the builder shows up.

What we do: Lot clearing, stump grinding, grading, and pad prep. We coordinate with your builder so the site is ready on day one.

Recreation

Hunting Lanes, Trails & Food Plots

You want shooting lanes, ATV/UTV trails, food plots, or stand access without spending a year of weekends with a chainsaw.

What we do: Recreational land prep is one of our most common jobs. Owner-walked layout, flat-rate quote, opened up before deer season.

Reclaim pasture

Lost Fence Lines & Reverted Pasture

Your fence line is gone in the brush. Old pasture has reverted to scrub woods. You need usable, mowable acreage back for cattle, horses, or hay.

What we do: Brush removal and pasture reclamation. We can clear right up to a working fence, grind stumps, and leave you a mowable surface.

Storm damage

Storm Damage & Hazard Trees

Wind, ice, or age brought down (or weakened) trees on your land. You need cleanup, debris removal, and the dead ones down before they hit the house or the power line.

What we do: Storm cleanup, hazard tree removal, and full lot debris processing. Same crew, same flat-rate quote, often within the week.
